ORIGIN AND VINEYARD
2009 was a wonderful vintage. The quality of the grapes and the
unique flavour of the wine created with them deserved a special
product: ABADENGO RESERVA 2009 was borned. 100% made of
Juan García grapes. Unique variety all around the world. These grapes
grow in vines aged from 60 to 70 years and have been harvested and
selected by hand.
LOCATION AND SOIL TYPE
The vineyards are located, 750 metres over the sea level, in the
“Natural Park Arribes del Douro”, in northwest Spain, where the river
Douro forms a natural border with Portugal. This place has a riverbank
microclimate.
Shallow soil. Composition stresses in slate and granite.
VINIFICATION
This wine fermentated in a conical frustum 1500-litre shaped tank made
of wood for 10-15 days. Always 28º C controlled temperature and using
only native yeast. The malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless
steel tank. The wine matures in French oak barrels during 12 months.
TASTING NOTES
Middle layer bright and cherry color, with a slightly orange crown.
Different nose, with flavored balsamic cherries in liqueur, hints of
toffee, mineral. The palate has red fruit flavors, creamy, coffee. Long
and balanced aftertaste.

FOOD COMPLIMENTS
Perfect for Argentinian meat or in general any red meat, beef or veal. A
perfect match for strong flavoured game meat. Also very suitable to
